Adobe Illustrator Templates
The Illustrator templates are a precise visual definition of our printed product formats. These include the necessary components of our books (eg, covers, dust jackets, interior pages and spreads) in the sizes appropriate to minimum and maximum book lengths. The Illustrator templates are not preconfigured with multiple pages, as the InDesign plugin is, but can be easily extended.

PDF Templates
Our PDF templates are essentially identical to the Illustrator templates, but are more suitable for importing into non-Adobe design applications.

Our downloadable product templates include a PDF preset file that should be loaded and used when outputting your final PDF. In addition to these settings, please note these important guidelines:
Images
All images should have a resolution of at least 150 dpi at the size used. 300 dpi is preferred. For example, an image used at 10" x 10" should have a resolution of 3000 x 3000 pixels or a minimum of 1500 x 1500 pixels.
Colors
All images, graphic art, colors, and color profiles should use sRGB color definitions and/or profiles. Our presses are precisely configured to convert RGB to CMYK and will do a much better job than converting in Photoshop or other apps.
Fonts
All fonts must be embeddable and have the entire character set embedded in your final PDF output.
Font License
All fonts should be appropriately licensed for print use and transient loading on commercial print systems. This is generally referred to as a “Desktop” license.
